Sebastian Staziker – Yoga For Everyone   

I believe that Yoga is whatever you want it to be. To some it is a physical practice for making the body supple or strong. For others it is working with the breath to not only improve the quality of our breathing but to aid concentration of the mind. The reality is Yoga is all these things and much, much more.

Despite my mother being a Yoga teacher I only started regularly attending classes when I was around 19 years old. I was studying to be a carpenter at the time and began to see the enormous benefits it brought in helping manage back pain I suffered from brought about by old sports injuries and day-to-day aches and pains from my work. Aside from this I was particularly drawn to meditation and threw myself in the deep end by signing up to a 10-day silent retreat! The experience was utterly inspirational and I subsequently went on to train as a Satvik Energy Therapist before signing up to the British Wheel of Yoga Diploma Course. I trained with two wonderful teachers in Paul Fox and Carol Price and qualified in August 2016.

In a world of constant stimulation, I feel Yoga classes are a wonderful opportunity to stop and listen: to listen to our bodies, our minds and our hearts. A space in which to stretch and grow, to find stillness and peace.
