Yoga Training Course Overview

 Thank you for your interest in Yoga glow Teacher training foundation course.

This course offers a comprehensive 330 hour training based on the holistic principles of Hatha yoga which underpins many of the styles of yoga practiced today. The course is run over 22 months comprising of monthly Friday evenings and all day Saturday plus 2 residential weekends the total contact hours are 270 hours.  Michelle Cheesbrough is the Senior Yoga Teacher (SYT) of this course she runs Yoga Glow Studio and she has been teaching yoga for 18 years. Michelle is also qualified as a Registered Nurse and Yoga Therapist. As the principal teacher she is teaching 250 hours of the whole course. Guest teachers will be invited to hold workshops teaching a total of 20 hours. All tutors have had extensive practice and training and offer the support and diverse experience for students to develop their confidence, professionalism and own authentic style of teaching based on their own strengths. The course framework is modular based and homework assignments are set from each of the modules which cover all aspects of becoming a competent yoga teacher. You will learn how to safely teach and modify practices to a range of mixed ability groups and will be able to start teaching after the first year should you wish to which is a useful way to fund your training. The course has an emphasis on personal development which allows you time to absorb, practice, reflect upon and consolidate your learning in between the training days. The course offers the enriching experience of being with other like -minded people as you work together in groups and pairs to discuss and explore different aspects of teaching.  You will be expected to keep going to your weekly yoga class and will be given a sign off sheet for your teacher to acknowledge your attendance and progression.

The accrediting body for this course is yoga Alliance Professionals YAP. Upon signing up for this course your name, email address and phone number will be forwarded to YAP and you will receive a free membership for the duration of your course. Residents of the UK and Ireland are eligible to add Trainee insurance for the duration of their course (£10 UK, £20 Ireland)

On successful completion of your Teacher Training Foundation course you can enter the career path with yoga Alliance professionals should you wish to at Associate level 1 with an additional 130 hours of further training that counts towards the next membership level. The Saturday Training days offer a rich and varied experience of learning through lectures and discussions, pair work, group work and practical experience and the Friday evening is more reflective and tailored towards self- development and the deeper aspect of yoga, developing a self- practice and the study of the philosophical aspects of yoga. Each module has a set of topics that will be covered. The Modules are not taught in sequential order but delivered in part throughout the course. Some topics are revisited to build knowledge, revise and consolidate learning. All students must attend 90% of course any sessions missed can be caught up by studying in own time the material covered, any extra help can be arranged with your course tutor for a tutorial at £70 per session. There is a 3 month period after the course has finished to complete all work and assessments before graduation evening .
